The third-largest winning ticket in Mega Millions history was purchased at a Speedway gas station in Des Plaines, Illinois on Friday, ending 29 consecutive draws with no jackpot winner.

The full list of the winning numbers were, 13, 36, 45, 57 and 67, plus the gold Mega Ball 14.

Ohio Lottery Director Pat McDonald, currently serving as Lead Director for the Mega Millions Consortium, said, “Congratulations to the Illinois Lottery for selling the winning ticket for the $1.337 billion Mega Millions jackpot.

“We are thrilled to have witnessed one of the biggest jackpot wins in Mega Millions history. We’re eager to find out who won and look forward to congratulating the winner soon! Better still, this exciting jackpot run has had a significant positive impact on the revenues for good causes raised by our member lotteries.”

Winners who select the annuity option will get the full prize, which will be paid out over a 29-year period. The majority of winners, though, choose the cash option, which for the drawing on Friday night was estimated to be worth $780.5 million.

This is the fifth Mega Millions jackpot won to date in 2022. It began with California’s $426 million prize in January, followed by $128 million in New York in March, $110 million in Minnesota in April, and $20 million in Tennessee on April 15.

The store that sold the winning ticket will receive $500,000 — and Illinois is among the states where winners of more than $250,000 do not have to reveal their names.

Mega Millions is drawn at 11 pm Eastern on Tuesday and Friday evenings, including holidays.

The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 302.5 million.
