[ad_1]

Coinbase-backed metaverse technology company Everyrealm has announced its partnership with Hometopia video game to launch the world’s first metaverse game for home design and building and renovating virtual real estate.

The partnership brings together two titans; one in the video game industry and the other in the metaverse space to allow adults to engage in realistic home design and building while gaming.

Hometopia

Hometopia is a free-to-play video game backed by Polygon, Forte, and Overwol that allows players to build ideal virtual homes and communities with friends. Its players are given ownership of what they create and acquire in the game unlike in traditional video games where players lose everything they own once they complete gameplay.

Following the partnership, the founder and developer of Hometopia said:

“Hometopia will capture those looking for a more realistic home design and world creation game as they age out of the homebuilding games they loved as a kid. Hometopia stands to become this generation’s The Sims, one of the best-selling PC games of all time, which sold more than 11 million copies generating more than $5 billion in revenue.”

Hometopia gameplay resembles some of the most popular home design games in Roblox (NYSE: RBLX) like Brookhaven and Bloxburg. Bloxburg, for example, was released in 2015 and has already gotten more than 5 million visits and has been favoured more than 11 million times. Brookhaven on the other hand routinely has over 450,000 concurrent users.

Hometopia has been in development for the past three years and will launch later this year for free on the Epic Games Store for PC, with versions for Mac and other platforms expected to follow soon.

Everyrealm

Eevryrealm is famous for its diverse and vast metaverse real estate holdings and successful metaverse projects that include the likes of The Row and Fantasy Islands.

It is backed by the popular crypto exchange Coinbase, Andreessen Horowitz, and the Weeknd.

Commenting on the partnership, the CEO of Everyrealm, Janine Yorio, said:

“As a gamified combination of Pinterest, Houzz and Wayfair, Hometopia is poised to capture those looking for more adult-versions of Roblox interior design games they grew to love as children, and will particularly appeal to a female demographic that has been overlooked by most metaverse gaming projects but which represents a disproportionate amount of spending power.”
