NEW YORK, NY / ACCESSWIRE / September 13, 2022 / Jason Binn, the longtime publisher of Dujour Magazine, has been officially cleared of all charges related to a groping incident in June of this year, according to PageSix.com.
The 54-year-old Binn was taken into custody last June for allegedly groping a teen’s buttocks over her clothes following a meal at a popular New York City restaurant. Following the arrest, Binn faced several misdemeanor charges, including third-degree sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a child, and forcible touching. As of September 13, 2022, the New York District Attorney’s office dropped all charges against Binn.
Sources close to Binn’s ex said the case was thrown out and immediately dismissed and feel like it was more of a PR stunt by Binn’s ex-wife to get more money and out of the children in the middle. Binn couldn’t have been happier to see justice was served so he and his three children could put this behind them.
“I am relieved my case has been dismissed,” says Binn. “I am also pleased that the legal system worked in my matter, and as a result, I was exonerated.”
“Now, I can redirect my attention to my children, repairing the damage caused by this very recent and shameful fiasco, which I believe was regrettably perpetuated by my ex-wife,” said Binn.
A source close to Binn said the accuser’s identity was a “delicate, sensitive topic.”
Haley Lieberman is the daughter of a 2.5-star hotel group South Beach Group Hotels hotelier Alan Lieberman, and Sotheby’s Real Estate agent Diane Lieberman who works with her son, Nathan Lieberman as a real estate broker.
“This is, unfortunately, the latest chapter in a long and bitter divorce proceeding,” Binn’s divorce lawyer, Valentina Shaknes, said in a statement.
Binn and ex-wife Liebermann Binn had married in 2003. The now-estranged pair filed for divorce in 2020 in Manhattan Supreme Court.
Binn claimed the charges against him were concocted by his estranged wife as the pair duke it out in divorce court.
“Her case had no merit and was baseless,” Binn said. “I am happy it’s all over.”
Binn, 54, is a father of one boy and two girls.
